It never ceases to amaze me. I was watching the police officers who work for me attempt to arrest someone last night. Keep in mind this was an upper middle class "normal" guy. Normal except that he beat up his wife.
He has 3 guns pointed at him and a police dog barking in the background. His response to the command "FREEZE POLICE!" is to start a long constitutional debate about our right (or lack there of) to stop him. ARRGGHHHH.
Why do people have so crucially little common sense?

I hear ya
The first reaction anyone should have to police is complete compliance. Put your hands up, do what they say and shut up. After which you're entitled to avail yourself of the entire criminal justice system.
Dear Everyone: Stop arguing with police.... you'll lose.

Thanks for the feedback. I always figure, even if the cops screw up, just sue them later. It beats being hurt...or worse.

Wow. Police or not, if I have a gun pointed at me and someone tells me to freeze... well doesn't that just seem like painfully obvious common sense?
I try to make it a point to be very cooperative with police when I have the occasion to interact with them. I always try to make it a point to thank them as well. Yeah, occasionally there's an asshole, but the vast majority of police I've dealt with have been doing good things.

Ah, but this guy BEATS HIS WIFE. Obviously, he owns the world, and everybody in it, including his wife, and the police.

I've always had this theory that some people are just... broken. It's hard to understand much of anything about someone who beats his wife.
So who knows. Maybe he thought laws are more sort of optional guidelines...
