You are all dogs.
You are all dogs.
Well from my understanding is that most of the stuff he gets (he's still in high school) is already pre-filled with his race, but in the future I'm assuming he would put other. Most forms I fill out now have multi-racial as an option.
Tomorrow I promise to only start happy notes and post happy clips. I'm getting depressed by the stupid people.
These people kill me, good spot Tyme.
That was the old way of course, now more and more people deal with bi-racial people in correct terms. When I was back in school, "other" wasn't an option so I always put darkness...I mean black. My brother, who is as white as can be, blonde hair and blue eyes is also labeled as black. He has the best of everything.
Because typically you go with the father's race. And if you look black and have black in you, they are going to consider you black. Society.
Does this even make sense to anyone? Cutting fuel costs at the expense of an education and adding a burden to the parents? You would think there are some smart people working in our school districts that can do a better job of problem-solving before they go into something extreme like this.
Cutting out one day of school has been the key to preserving educational programs and staff in parts of Kentucky, New Mexico and Minnesota, outweighing some parents' concerns about finding day-care for the day off.
Well let's be clear about a couple of things:
1) It definitely depends on where you live in this country to know what type of racism you have experienced. In the larger Florida cities, Tampa, Orlando, Miami the melting pot is so huge that yes there is racism, but to a much lesser degree than the other southern cities or hell any other cities in Florida.
2) If you grew up around blacks and were white (as an example) you might have seen some of the stuff they have gone through. Mike for example has been with me in Austin, Texas where I wasn't allowed into a bar because of my pants being too "baggy". He was visibly more upset than I was because I saw the ignorance that was being displayed and learned from my parents to just move on.
I won't even describe the story of a cop pulling me over for my license plate light being out. That isn't a typo.
3) I can't say how the life of a fat person is because I'm not one so who am I too judge? I can't say that the life of a white person growing up in the Bronx is harder than a black person growing up in Montana. We all know there can be difficulties in all our lives and there is no scale that we can base it on. A black person's life is much easier (usually) when they are in a black neighborhood and the same is applied to all races.
If you want to compare apples to apples and say that you know a black person who was shot for being black and white people don't get that treatment, you can just as easily find a white person being shot for being white. It just so happens that because white people dominate this country demographically that the scales will tip in their favor, but with Spanish becoming our national language and inter-racial dating becoming more of an occurrence the scales are tipping.
From a personal standpoint though, if you have rocks being thrown at your house I'm going to say you had a harder life than me. That doesn't mean all whites have harder lives and vice versa. Some of us never have to experience racism at all and so to those people the lives of others might be much harder.
That's the thing, so many people like to think it really effects them when others make a comment. And if you really want to make this about race are you the upstanding citizen giving your race the good name?
I can see how someone would take offense to that, but I don't think they should. I could see me making a smart ass comment in my head and letting life go on because I knew what the person meant. Hell, nevermind I would've joined in the joke with them.
In the article clipped above I talk about how sometimes black people can push the race issue a bit too far. Now all races at one time or another push the issue a bit too far and blacks just happen to be my example so far. Being a person of mixed heritage (black and white) I have it a bit easier than others in that I find I can say whatever around anyone without getting glares or shocked expressions.
But in your life do you find you have to watch what you say around different races? Even if I'm around asians for example I will crack an asian joke because if they cracked a black or white joke I would laugh just the same. We aren't all equal because we are different colors just like you don't like all the crayons in the box. It's going to happen that people pick one color over another.
Like I said, God is enjoying this fiasco. What I want to know his how race effects you in your life? Could be in work or personal life. Does it hold you back, does it make you uncomfortable or do you just pretend nothing is there?
So when God created man (see I’m not even going to bother with all that Creationism crap, it’s just more fun when you think somebody created us because we are twisted), do you think he (yes he, God can’t be a woman, things would end up perfect then…see what I did there?) asked himself how he could make life interesting? I think first he created different heights, eye color and hair color and figured we would just fight it out right there. But that wasn’t good enough, he needed something more. That is when he came up with the idea of races and let the shit hit the fan. It came as an added bonus that we discriminate over gender, financial status, religion, place where we grew up, attractiveness and other inconsequential things.
Few political figures have been more confounding than the Rev. Jesse Jackson. In four decades of public service, he has lived at the crossroads of inspiration and exasperation -- keeping hope alive for many and driving others crazy.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out, almost builds up sympathy for the guy which is something his opponents didn't want him to have.
Or you can just say they have lost their damn minds.
Even if it is fake don't you feel like this anyways about the guy?
Outlaw clothes.
I gotta agree with you on this one, but I would also like to know how they found out? Cops going around doing undercover stings with gas cards now instead of money?
Cops are good people, go do good work and leave the sex for gas people alone.
I mean it isn't 'cool' per se, but I'm sure you understand my meaning. Then again less and less rappers are rapping about it so maybe that is a sign of the times. And yes, I use rap to measure the popularity of a substance in pop culture.
I'm really curious as well to the cultural impact of such a move. Does weed stay "cool" if it's legal?
Marijuana will be taxed through a system of stamps and licenses--a $5 stamp will be required for the sale of an eighth ounce of marijuana and a $50 annual license will be required for the growth of one marijuana plant. To protect participants and encourage participation in the system, such licenses and stamps will be available anonymously in stores where marijuana is sold.
In a lot of ways, choosing the Bush administration's 10 greatest moments -- disastrous failures, all -- is about as pointless as picking out your 10 least favorite hemorrhoids: There are entirely too many of them, and taken together they all add up to a throbbing mass of pain. But unfortunately, history demands that we at least make the effort so that future generations will understand why we perform voodoo rituals cursing Bush's memory before we go to bed every night.
Not that I know all of the pros and cons of the issue, but you are saying that you think the pros do outweight the cons in this respect correct?
Now a part of me wants to see this make it through because I'm curious as to what the results are, the other part of me hopes it doesn't happen because I know some weed head people that don't really handle the herb too well. I'm not saying it's bad for you or doing one of those silly anti-drug commercials, I'm just saying drunk people can be annoying and potheads can be even more so.
Then again, drunk people can be fun and so can potheads. Idiots will always be idiots though. Legalize the drug that fixes that and I'll vote 100x with my 100 different identities.
There is an initiative in the works that could end up on the November ballot that allows for marijuana to be sold to anyone, and anywhere that already sells alcohol. Its being called The Inalienable Rights Enforcement Initiative.
Stupid.
Part of speech: adjective
Defintion: lacking in intelligence
Synonym: politics, politicians
Haha that's awesome. Wonder how many repubs it will piss off and if we'll see any public backlash.
Could always check up the elephant.
If a ballot confuses you, you're too stupid to vote.
I thought they said that if you vote Republican?
*runs
Because the Republicans would be at the top of the ballot and use some confuscated ballot that confuses people into voting for McCain and therefore we would have the first election where 100% of the population voted for one candidate.
I know with the last 2 elections it's hard to feel secure about any Democratic nominee so the VP choice will be important, but I'm not sure it will be as important as what third parties decide to run. We could have another 2000 Nader/Gore fiasco on our hands. That is what is bothering me.
I'm not saying there should only be two parties, but when that third/fourth/fifth party always seems to hurt YOUR party you tend to want to smack them in the face.
You have to have an ego to run in politics, but it can't let it get in the way of making the right decisions. Without an ego you would get stomped all over and be nothing more than a volunteer.
I'll leave that for somebody else to answer.
Almost bares the question if you can be egotistical and not be an asshole or be an asshole without being egotistical?

If Election Day was a federal holiday that people had off so they had plenty of time to take care of the votes then I can see them taking it away. As it stands now it is needed and yeah there is opportunity for some foul ups, but also time to catch ones as well.
As of right now I'm for it. Nothing worse than for someone to be turned away the only day they can vote and not seek justice in time to get their vote in.
